Border 2
Border 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the 1997 war epic, has hit theatres this week. Starring Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and Ahan Shetty, the film takes audiences back to the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. With large-scale combat sequences, powerful patriotic anthems and emotionally layered stories of soldiers, the film seeks to revive the scale and sentiment that made the original a classic.
Within five days of its release, the film has collected Rs 270.7 crore worldwide.
Marty Supreme
Timothee Chalamet makes his return to the big screen with the comedy-drama Marty Supreme. Helmed by Josh Safdie the story is set against the backdrop of the 1950s and it draws inspiration from the life of iconic American table tennis player Marty Reisman. Chalamet leads a diverse ensemble cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.
Mercy
Headlined by Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, this intense science-fiction action thriller is directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The story centres on a detective who is accused of murdering his wife, setting off a tense journey where justice, memory and technology intersect. The film also features an ensemble cast including Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan and Kylie Rogers.
Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies
Directed by Advaith Nayar, this Malayalam action-comedy draws inspiration from the world of professional wrestling. Set in Kochi, the film follows a group of unlikely underdogs who come together to form a wrestling club. The ensemble cast includes Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair and Ishan Shoukath, with Siddique and Lakshmi Menon in key roles. The film also spices things up with surprise cameo appearances by several superstars, including Mammootty.
Mardaani 3
Rani Mukerji once again slips into the role of the fierce ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3. The official synopsis of the film reads: “It is a race against time and there will be no mercy. Shivani Shivaji Roy is back to rescue girls who go missing without a trace.”
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and Mardaani 3 is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film is all set to hit theatres on January 30.
