Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sequel Jailer 2 is reportedly gearing up for a massive theatrical release later this year. According to a recent report, the highly anticipated action entertainer is expected
to arrive in cinemas on September 11.
Filmfare reported that Jailer 2 will hit cinemas on September 11. The source shared that the makers are confident about locking September 11 as the final release date. “This will lead up to the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, giving the film an extended weekend and holiday run,” it shared.
In April, Rajinikanth wrapped up the shoot for his much-awaited film Jailer 2, marking a major milestone for the project. The makers celebrated the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony that brought together the cast and crew. Photos and videos from the wrap-up celebration have surfaced online. Taking to their Instagram handle, Sun Pictures shared a series of photos featuring celebrating the moment with a cake-cutting ceremony. “Alapparai Kelappurom, Thalaivaru Nerandharam! It’s a wrap for #Jailer2,” read the caption.
Recently, a video from Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Jailer 2 was leaked online. While the clip is being circulated on social media platforms, the makers have issued a statement urging everyone not to use, share or repost it. “We would like to bring to your attention that a Video clip from the sets of ‘Jailer 2’ is currently being circulated on social media platforms. Our anti-piracy team is actively monitoring the situation and will be taking necessary action to remove such content, including initiating measures against accounts involved in sharing or promoting these clips,” a statement by the production house Sun Pictures read, as quoted by Deccan Herald. “We kindly request members of the media and fans club to refrain from using, sharing, or reposting this video, in order to avoid any potential suspension or restrictions on their accounts. Please note that the production will not be held responsible for any such actions taken or to retrieve the accounts,” it added.
Jailer 2 has triggered huge interest, thanks to the phenomenal reach of the first part of the film, which went on to emerge a huge blockbuster, raking in around Rs 650 crores. Shooting of the second part of the film began in Chennai first. Sun Pictures, the production house producing the action entertainer, had announced that shooting for the film had commenced on March 10 this year.
