project after Cocktail, but a new update says that Amit Sharma is indeed directing a romcom next and is in talks with the Haider actor for the same. However, the possibility of Rashmika Mandanna being in the film is slim.
Bollywood Hungama reported a source saying, “There is no Rashmika Mandanna in the project at all. Yes, Amit is in talks with Shahid Kapoor.” The report further claimed that there are two reasons why Rashmika can’t do the project. Firstly, Rashmika’s date diary is packed and she wants to finish her pending workload ahead of her rumoured wedding, and secondly, she has just finished another project with Shahid Kapoor, Cocktail 2.

Variety India reported that the duo will be seen playing a married couple in the romantic comedy. The report suggested that the film will revolve around a married couple whose relationship has reached breaking point, with divorce seeming like the only option left. Just when things couldn’t get worse, a scientific experiment goes terribly wrong, leading to a series of hilarious mishaps, awkward situations and unexpected moments. It is slated to be a light-hearted and feel-good entertainer.
Shahid and Rashmika’s work front
Meanwhile, Shahid and Rashmika’s Cocktail 2, which also stars Kriti, is expected to hit the big screen this year. Apart from this, Shahid has Raj and DK’s Farzi Season 2, while Rashmika has Allu Arjun and Atlee’s film and Ranabaali in the pipeline. On the personal front, Mandanna will reportedly get married to her longtime beau Vijay Deverakonda in February 2026.
Amid the wedding rumours, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda were spotted at the Hyderabad airport. A video shared on Instagram captured the rumoured couple entering the airport on Sunday, February 15, accompanied by their respective team members. While the two did not make a joint appearance, they were present at the location around the same time.
