Speculation is rife that filmmaker Mani Ratnam has finalised Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi for the lead roles in his next directorial venture. While an official announcement is still awaited, the reported
casting has already generated excitement among fans.
According to 123 Telugu, Mani Ratnam has finalized Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi for the lead roles in his next directorial. The report also claims that the film will be jointly bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. If everything goes as planned, the shoot is expected to begin this summer.
Vijay Sethupathi Opens Up About His Role In Vetrimaaran’s Arasan
Arasan is an upcoming Tamil film starring Silambarasan that is currently under production. While the directors announced Vijay Sethupathi’s casting in the film, certain sources stated that the actor had to abandon the production. However, Vijay Sethupathi has clarified if the report is real or not. Director Vetrimaaran is now collaborating with Silambarasan on their upcoming film Arasan. Reportedly, the film is based in the Vada Chennai universe and is slated to feature a stellar cast. Arasan is a gangster action drama scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay Sethupathi has also been announced for the project but claims circulated that the actor had to abandon the project due to scheduling concerns. Now, Vijay has ended all speculation and confirmed that he is part of the project.
Vijay Sethupathi’s Latest Projects
Vijay is set to work with Thiagarajan Kumararaja, one of Tamil cinema’s highly acclaimed directors in Pocket Novel. It also stars Malavika Mohanan, and Raj B Shetty. Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan and Raj B Shetty, who will play the leads, the film will also include versatile actor Kishore in a key role.
The film has an extraordinarily talented technical staff. It will be directed by one of India’s best cinematographers, Nirav Shah, and scored by none other than Isaiganani Ilaiyaraaja. Interestingly, the script for this film was written by filmmaker Andrew Louis, who is recognised for his work on Kolagaran and the web series Vadandhi. Sathyaraj Natarajan will edit the film, while S D Ezhilmathy will design the costumes.
What’s Next For Sai Pallavi?
Currently, the 33-year-old actress has Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in the pipeline, in which she will play Sita. The film will also star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, while Yash will play Ravana. Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey portrays Lakshman. Ramayana Part I is slated for a theatrical release this Diwali.
She also has Ek Din with Junaid Khan, slated for release on May 1. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi will also appear in D55 with Dhanush, which will also star Sreeleela and Mammootty in the main role.
