Ho underworld jikra
yaaran ke naam ka.
The Internet is obsessed with Arjun Kapoor, albeit for all the wrong reasons. The Bollywood actor recently turned into a meme after a 2017 video of him staring down
the journalist resurfaced on the web. The meme community has masterfully removed the original audio from the video and added a song twist. The meme is being used in different scenarios. It’s funny, it’s repetitive, it’s mean. It’s an Internet meme, after all. Whether Kapoor is tired of seeing himself on his feed one scroll after another or not is something only he could answer, but the actor switching off his Instagram comments implies the unwarranted spam he’s been subjected to in the days that have passed.
Then who has benefited from this trend? Dada Sadhu.
The Meme Origin
Arjun Kapoor, along with his co-actor Shraddha Kapoor, met up for a media interaction after their movie Half Girlfriend hit the movie theatres in May of 2017. It was a regular day of promoting a movie, and the mood of the room was fun and chill. This was where a journalist asked Kapoor about his experience of shooting in Bihar, a location that was utilised in Half Girlfriend. The Bollywood actor gave a heartfelt response and expressed that the locals extended warmth towards the actors during their time there.
Upon hearing his response, a reporter in attendance went, “Kya baat hai!”
Kapoor, amused by the reporter’s quip, suddenly had a straight face as he locked his eyes with the journalist and stared him from up to down. “Tune bola, kya baat hai?” asked Kapoor as the man did not blink his eyes.
When the reporter admitted that he was scared by Kapoor, the actor instantly broke character, lightened up the mood in the room, and said smilingly, “I did not even say anything.”
Meme Galore
The memers chopped this very bit from the media interaction, removed the audio, added a song by Dada Sadhu, and went to town with it. The edited version has been incorporated into several scenarios as seen in the following memes.

Dus Don – Dada Sadhu
The meme may have given Kapoor a massive headache and perhaps made him even hate logging into the Instagram app, but there’s someone who has benefited a bunch from the meme that did not even exist a couple of weeks ago.
The Haryanvi track has seen exponential interest on Google Trends in India in the past few days. And it’s not only that people are curiously looking up the song on Google, but also actively downloading the ringtone of ‘Dus Don’.

The track has seen a massive spike in plays on Spotify, where it has clocked nearly 1.5 crore listeners.

Similar scenes were witnessed on YouTube. ‘Dus Don’ track first dropped on the video-sharing platform in December 2020 under the banner Mad Music Films. Here, the song has smashed another 94 million views, and it seems to be growing by the day.
A peep into the comments section of the song sums up the entire Internet.
“Tune bola kya baat hai?” wrote one.
“Arjun Kapoor owns this song.”
“Arjun Kapoor badmoshi status.”
“Arjun Kapoor most favourite song (sic).”
The sudden spam of comments on the song video has understandably made the music label happy, and someone at their company, perhaps the admin of their social media accounts, is busy liking all these comments on Arjun Kapoor.
