Gold and Silver Rates Today, December 18: Gold prices depreciated on Wednesday. In Mumbai, the price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,34,840 per 10 grams, while 22k gold was available at Rs 1,23,600 per 10 grams.
These rates do not include GST and making charges. Silver was available at Rs 2,08,100 per kg in the spot market.
On the MCX, gold was trading lower by 0.13 at Rs 1,34,725 per 10 grams for future contracts of the February 5, 2026 expiry. Silver futures expiring on March 05, 2026, were trading at Rs 1,81,669 per kg, a fall of 0.27 per cent.

Gold discounts in India widened as demand fell despite the wedding season after prices scaled record highs, while Chinese demand remained muted amid volatility and high spot prices, according to Reuters. Indian dealers were offering a discount of up to $34 per ounce to official domestic prices last week, inclusive of 6% import and 3% sales levies, wider than last week’s discount of up to $22.
