A day after police gunned down the two shooters who had opened fire outside actor Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly, her father, Jagdish Patani, expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath for providing them with full security and taking swift action against the attackers.
Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18, Jagdish Patani said, “Thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, my family received protection. Since the incident, the Chief Minister has continuously supported and consoled me and my family.”
Praising the police action, Jagdish, a retired police officer himself, said, “It was not easy to face such a big gang.” He added that the state government ensured tight security for his family following the firing incident.
“My family and I have been provided with full security. I myself am a former police officer. It was a big task for the police,” he stated.
Shooters Linked To Rohit Godara And Goldy Brar Gangs
The accused, Ravinder from Rohtak and Arun from Sonepat—both linked to the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gangs—were gunned down in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City during a joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Special Task Forces of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The suspects had opened fire outside Patani’s house in Bareilly in the early hours of September 12. Shortly after the incident, a social media account allegedly connected to associates of gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the attack.
Acting on intelligence and surveillance, a team led by ACP Dharmender Singh and SI Manjeet Singh tracked the duo to Ghaziabad. By evening, their exact location was confirmed. When police intercepted them near Tronica City at around 7.20 pm, the suspects opened fire, prompting a brief but intense exchange.
Both men were critically injured in the shootout—Ravinder sustained gunshots to the chest, and Arun was hit in the neck and chest. They later died during treatment. Four police personnel were also injured during the encounter.
