Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut Madgaon Express received a tremendous response from the audience following its release. The movie, starring Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary as the leads, gave
quite a good laugh to everyone who watched it, and now, for all the film’s fans, there is happy news. Divyenndu has confirmed that the sequel of the film is in the making.
“Yes, it’s on. It’s definitely on. Kunal [Kemmu] is working on the script. We are all very, very excited,” shared Divyenndu as he spoke to Variety India. He further continued, and speaking about the response the movie got, shared, “The kind of response we got for Madgaon Express was so… I mean, it’s got a cultish sort of a following. I’m not gonna use the word ‘cult’, because it’s (the film) too new. It still has to grow and age well. But yeah, people are really excited about that film.”

The movie features Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary, and Nora Fatehi. It revolves around three childhood friends embarking on a trip to Goa that unexpectedly leads them into the world of drug trafficking. While Kemmu is already well-established as an actor, challenges in his career prompted him to venture into directing Madgaon Express. In an interview, he revealed that creating this film served as a means for him to address and cope with his mental health struggles.
Madgaon Express was positively received by critics and fans alike. Several acclaimed Bollywood celebrities also gave Kunal’s film a shoutout. News18 also gave the film a 4-star review. Along with directing, Kunal also wrote the script for Madgaon Express. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani mentioned during the film’s release that it remained unchanged throughout the production process. He also credited Kunal’s conviction and belief in the project as key factors that contributed to the film’s success. Apart from this, rumours were also rife that there might be a sequel to Madgaon Express 2. Madgaon Express is a 2024 Bollywood comedy-drama that earned around Rs 35 crore in India.

Currently,the actor is looking forward to the release of his new series, Glory, arriving on Netflix on May 1, 2026. Apart from Divyenndu, the series stars Pulkit Samrat, Suvinder Vicky, Ashutosh Rana, Sayani Gupta, Jannat Zubair Rahmani, Sikander Kher, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and others. The actor also has Mirzapur: The Movie arriving on September 6, 2026.
