While South Korea is gearing up for the mega BTS comeback show, the country’s president, Lee Jae-Myung, has warned everyone against ‘possible terror acts’. During a recent cabinet meeting, President Lee urged
everyone to be fully prepared and directed the security officials to step up their preparations.
“Although the possibility is low, please prepare thoroughly for the potential of terrorism as well. I ask that you pool your capabilities to make it an event that successfully and safely highlights the Republic of Korea,” he said, as quoted by X handle Empire.
“I believe it will serve as an important opportunity to repeatedly confirm the excellence of K-pop and K-culture worldwide, as well as the high status of the Republic of Korea,” President Lee added.
Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Government also intensified preparations for the highly anticipated comeback concert. As reported by Chosun Biz, City officials confirmed that a third deputy mayoral inspection meeting was held to review readiness for the large-scale event expected to draw thousands of fans from around the world.
Besides this, a recent newsletter circulated by several schools has gained attention online, urging parents to educate their children about staying safe in crowded environments. The notice highlights the importance of awareness and preparedness. It advises families to discuss basic safety practices, such as staying with companions, identifying exits and avoiding overcrowded zones.
BTS Comeback After Nearly Four Years
For the unversed, BTS is set to perform in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun on March 21. The ARIRANG world tour marks a historic reunion for BTS, as the members return as a full group after nearly four years. During this period, each member fulfilled South Korea’s mandatory military service, making the upcoming concerts a deeply emotional moment for fans worldwide.
The tour will span 34 cities with a total of 82 shows, beginning with opening performances in Goyang and Tokyo. For millions of fans, popularly known as ARMY, the tour symbolises the band’s powerful return to the global stage.
The title ARIRANG carries cultural significance as well. The name draws inspiration from a traditional Korean folk song that represents longing, separation and reunion — themes that resonate strongly with the band’s journey and their bond with fans.
