parts of the country. Recently, Kapil Sharma appeared on the show to promote his upcoming film, Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2.
The episode witnessed nostalgic and deeply heart-touching moments as the ace comedian reflected on his strong bond with legendary actor Dharmendra Ji.
Kapil Sharma Pays Tribute to Legendary Actor Dharmendra on Indian Idol 16
Recalling how Dharmendra always treated him as family and the unconditional love he received from the iconic star, Kapil shared, “Unhone hamesha mujhe apna beta mana… aur unke jaisa na koi tha, na hoga.”
Kapil revealed that while he was first recognised by audiences through local Laughter Club performances, it was Dharmendra who had been his biggest admirer. He even waited for about two hours in Toronto just to watch Kapil’s performance. The gesture touched him deeply and further strengthened their bond, which was more like family.
The host-turned-actor also spoke about a special voice note from Dharmendra Ji, in which the legendary actor blessed his show, a memory he says he will cherish forever. As a tribute to both his late father and Dharam Ji, Kapil performed the song Chithi Na Koi Sandesh, leaving the judges and audience emotional.
“Poora duniya unse pyaar karti hai,” Kapil expressed, urging everyone to celebrate Dharmendra Ji’s timeless legacy and the immense love he continues to inspire across generations.
Shreya Ghoshal Calls Kapil Sharma the ‘SRK of Comedy’
Indian Idol also reunited Kapil with melody queen Shreya Ghoshal, who is one of the judges on the show. Shreya treated fans to a glimpse of her with Kapil Sharma and wrote one of the sweetest compliments for him. She noted, “SRK of comedy,” comparing Kapil to Bollywood’s King, Shah Rukh Khan.
Kapil Sharma’s Upcoming Film
Kapil Sharma is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2. Directed by Anukalp Goswami, the film is produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and Abbas-Mustan under Venus Worldwide Entertainment in association with Abbas-Mustan Film Production.
Alongside Kapil, the film also stars Sushant Singh, the late Asrani, Akhilendra Mishra, Vipin Sharma, Jamie Lever, Smita Jaykar, and Supriya Shukla in key roles. Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 will be released in theatres on December 12.
