The much-awaited Ramayana trailer was finally released on Thursday morning. While fans debated whether Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi looked convincing as Ram and Sita, respectively, a certain section of
social media users noted a problem with Lara Dutta’s wardrobe as Kaikeyi.
One frame in the trailer shows Lara in a maroon saree with a green blouse and open hair. This particular frame has caught everyone’s attention as some fans think it looks “too modern” to be a part of Ramayana. Many have taken to social media to express their hot takes.

Meanwhile, Lara Dutta took to social media to express her gratitude for being able to play Kaikeyi in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana: Part 1 is slated to release during Diwali 2026. The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Yash as Ravana. Yash has also co-produced the film. The second instalment is expected to be released around Diwali 2027.
