While Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming production Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos, the filmmaker has already lined up his next big-screen offering. The actor-producer has officially
announced Ek Din, a romantic drama that will arrive in theatres on May 1, 2026, signalling a packed production slate for the year ahead.
Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s Ek Din Locks Release Date
After weeks of speculation, Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s much-discussed film has finally received both a title and a release date. On January 15, 2026, Aamir Khan Productions unveiled the film’s official poster and confirmed that Ek Din will hit cinemas worldwide on May 1, 2026.
Sharing the first look, the makers wrote, “In the chaos of life, love will find you… Ek Din.” They also announced that the film’s teaser will be released on January 16, 2026, adding to the growing anticipation.
Poster Hints at a Tender, Youthful Love Story
The poster features Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan as a young couple lost in a quiet, intimate moment. Dressed in winter wear, the two are seen sharing ice cream as snow gently falls around them, suggesting a soft, nostalgic romance. Their styling hints that the characters may be college students, setting the stage for a coming-of-age love story.
Ek Din is directed by Sunil Pandey and written by Sneha Desai and Spandan Mishra.
Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan Reunite as Producers After 18 Years
The film also marks a significant reunion for Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan, who return as co-producers after nearly two decades. The duo last collaborated on the 2008 cult favourite Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, which introduced Imran Khan and starred Genelia D’Souza.
Their reunion adds emotional and nostalgic weight to Ek Din, especially for audiences familiar with their earlier work in shaping modern Hindi romances.
What’s Next for Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi
Junaid Khan made his acting debut with the historical drama Maharaj, earning praise for his restrained performance. He was later seen in Advait Chandan’s romantic drama Loveyapa, alongside Khushi Kapoor.
For Sai Pallavi, Ek Din marks her first Hindi film, a significant milestone in her career. The acclaimed actress will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash.
With a May 2026 release date locked and the teaser dropping soon, Ek Din is shaping up to be a quiet, emotionally driven romance—one that continues Aamir Khan Productions’ legacy of character-led storytelling.
