The higher reaches of Gurez Valley in north Kashmir witnessed the season’s first snowfall on Wednesday, with fresh snow covering Kabul Gali in the Tulail Valley in a thick white layer.
The snowfall brought
a noticeable change in weather conditions across the upper reaches, with temperatures dropping as the region experienced its first taste of winter this season.
Kabul Gali Turns Into A Winter Wonderland
Kabul Gali, located in the high-altitude areas of Tulail, was covered in fresh snow following the spell of snowfall. The white blanket transformed the rugged mountain landscape, with the surrounding slopes taking on a distinctly wintry appearance.
The snowfall also added to the scenic beauty of the Tulail Valley, known for its mountainous terrain and remote landscapes. Fresh snow covering the higher slopes created a striking contrast with the surrounding greenery.
Temperatures Dip As Snowfall Hits Higher Reaches
The first snowfall has also brought a drop in temperatures in the upper parts of Gurez. Kabul Gali is among the higher-altitude areas of the valley where snowfall can arrive relatively early in the season.
The changing weather conditions have prompted caution among local residents and travellers, particularly those planning to travel through high-altitude and mountainous areas. Temperatures can fall rapidly following snowfall, potentially making conditions more challenging for people travelling through the region.
The season’s first snowfall has also offered an early glimpse of the winter conditions that lie ahead for Gurez and other high-altitude areas of north Kashmir, as temperatures are expected to remain lower in the upper reaches compared with the valley areas.
