as scheduled, i.e. on March 5, 2027.
“PRABHAS – SANDEEP REDDY VANGA – BHUSHAN KUMAR: ‘SPIRIT’ NOT POSTPONED… The makers of #Spirit have officially clarified that the film is progressing exactly as planned and will arrive in cinemas worldwide on 5 March 2027. There is absolutely NO postponement whatsoever,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on X.

This comes hours after a report by Mid-Day claimed that Spirit was being postponed to December 2027 to avoid a clash with Saman Khan’s next with Nayanthara. “Salman Khan locked Eid 2027, which will fall in early March, for his next with Nayanthara. Once that date was taken, it didn’t make sense for Spirit to arrive in the same window. Vanga’s films rely heavily on sustained buzz and clean runs. So, the delay is a calculated move, not due to production issues,” a source cited by the news portal claimed.
What Do We Know About Spirit?
Spirit, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is touted to feature the Baahubali actor in a never-before-seen avatar of an angry young police officer who locks horns with a mafia syndicate. If the buzz is anything to go by, the upcoming action drama will be one of Prabhas’ most intense roles, with Sandeep’s incredible direction adding appeal to the drama.
Initially, the film was reported to be starring Deepika Padukone as the female co-lead but the actress walked out of the project due to failed negotiations. After her exit, Triptii Dimri was roped in to play the lead, marking her Telugu cinema debut. The rest of the cast has been kept under wraps.
