Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana trailer is finally here, giving fans a grand first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. While the trailer has been praised for its scale and visuals,
one important character is missing. Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman, does not appear even once in the four-minute trailer, leaving fans wondering why the makers chose to keep him out.
‘Where Is Hanuman?’ Fans Ask After Watching The Trailer
Soon after the trailer was released, social media was flooded with reactions. While many praised the visuals and performances, several viewers kept asking one question: “Where is Hanuman?” The trailer covers major moments from the epic, including Ram and Sita’s wedding, their exile, Surpanakha’s encounter, Sita’s abduction and glimpses of the battle with Ravana. However, Hanuman, one of the most important characters in the Ramayana, is nowhere to be seen.
Many fans believe the makers may have deliberately held back Sunny Deol’s first look to create more excitement closer to the film’s release. Many others argued that the makers had stayed true to the epic. They pointed out that Hanuman enters the story only after Sita’s abduction and with Ramayana: Part 1 reportedly ending at the Sita Haran sequence, there was little scope for Sunny Deol’s character to star in the trailer.
Hanuman Could Be Saved For The Second Part
The absence of Hanuman has also led to another theory. Ramayana is being made as a two-part film, something director Nitesh Tiwari had confirmed earlier. The first instalment will release during Diwali 2026, while the second is scheduled for 2027. Since Hanuman’s role becomes much more significant in the later part of the epic, many fans believe the makers are saving his introduction for the second film. However, the trailer does not confirm this, and the team has not commented on why Sunny Deol’s Hanuman was left out.
Where is Our Favourite Hanuman Ji? Let me tell you I was there in the Ramayana Event. They haven’t shot the Hanuman Ji part till the date while editing this final trailer, we’ll not able to see him anywhere before FILM. People need to stop crying over everything. Hanuman Ji had no role in Ram Ji’s life before the 13th year of the vanvas. He appeared only after Sita Haran and Part 1 ends with Sita Haran. So how do people expect the makers to sneak him anywhere into the story? pic.twitter.com/faQnj0OZww

I hope in next part we will see sunny paji will play hanuman ji character but for Ranbir Kapoor will see the impact of Ramayana I didn’t find the VFX that impressive—they could have improved it a bit but it will still be worth watching to see how they present the story pic.twitter.com/DUTW0nrqSt
