Shimla, Jun 15 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh will launch the first phase of Census-2027 from June 16, officials said on Monday.
The phase, titled House Listing and Housing Census, will continue till July 15 across
the state, a spokesperson of the Directorate of Census Operations, Himachal Pradesh, said.
The spokesperson said training of all enumerators and supervisors has been successfully completed in every district.
“This year’s census is being conducted digitally, with enumerators using the HLO Mobile App for data collection,” he said.
Citizens who have not completed self-enumeration through the online portal will be covered through door-to-door visits during the census period, he added.
Enumerators will collect information through 33 officially prescribed questions covering housing conditions, household composition, access to basic amenities such as water, electricity, sanitation and food grains, and the availability of household assets, the spokesperson said.
Emphasising public safety, he said residents can verify the identity of census staff by scanning the QR code displayed on their official identity cards. “No bank details, OTPs or financial documents will be sought during the census process,” he added.
The spokesperson appealed to residents to extend full cooperation and participate in the national exercise. PTI COR NB NB
