Power-packed performers Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh have collaborated for one of the most anticipated films of 2026, Border 2. The makers of the sequel recently unveiled the film’s loaded teaser, offering
a peek into its patriotic plot. The teaser launch event witnessed the presence of Varun Dhawan, among others, while Diljit Dosanjh gave it a miss. However, Varun made everyone feel Diljit’s presence as he heaped praise on him and gave a heartfelt shoutout to the Chamkila actor.
“Unhone ne bhi apna khoon paseena diya hai iss film ke liye. He’s also playing PVC in this film. And I’m thanking everyone on his behalf as well,” he shared and earned a roaring applause from the audience.
Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty, Border 2 explores the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The new film is directed by Anurag Singh of “Kesari” fame, while the original was helmed by the veteran filmmaker JP Dutta.
During the teaser launch event on Tuesday, Varun Dhawan also admitted that when he began filming for Border 2, he was a bit nervous, but it was Deol who made him feel comfortable on the movie set.
“After many years, I’m feeling very nervous and emotional. An actor always pins his hopes on a film, and thinks that, ‘I hope people like the work that I’ve done’. For me, the biggest thing was to work with Sunny Deol and I’m genuinely thankful to him for giving us the opportunity to work alongside him,” Dhawan said.
“When I did my first scene with him, and he took the name of my character, I got nervous and told Anurag, ‘He is sounding like Sunny Deol’ and he laughed about it. He has been my hero as a child, and I had seen ‘Border’ in Chandan theatre multiple times. To see him in front of me was a big thing. The child in me was very happy,” the actor added.
Border 2 also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh. The film is produced by T-Series & J P Dutta’s J P Films and will release theatrically on January 23, 2026.
