Ranveer Singh Don 3 Update: Ranveer Singh appears to be making careful choices as he rides a strong wave of success following Dhurandhar. With the action thriller drawing massive crowds and reshaping his
career momentum, the actor is reportedly reworking his upcoming slate. The latest buzz suggests that Singh has stepped away from Farhan Akhtar’s long-anticipated Don 3, choosing instead to focus on projects that better align with his current creative direction.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Singh’s exit comes at a time when Don 3 was expected to finally move forward, with preparations underway and filming planned to begin by the end of January 2026. However, the actor’s priorities appear to have shifted in the aftermath of Dhurandhar’s blockbuster run. A source told the publication, “He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space.”
The report further claims that this decision has directly impacted Singh’s next move, with the actor choosing to fast-track a different project. The source added that Ranveer has requested producer Jai Mehta to prepone the shoot of Pralay, a zombie-based film centred on a deeply emotional human story. “Now that he has walked out of Don 3, Ranveer is now personally involved in aligning dates and schedules for Jai Mehta’s film to ensure the film moves quickly,” the source said.
Tentatively titled Pralay, the Applause Entertainment-backed film is said to revolve around a man’s desperate attempt to protect his family amid overwhelming chaos. With Don 3 no longer part of his immediate plans, Singh is reportedly hands-on in ensuring the project moves to the floors sooner than initially scheduled.
The development has left the makers of Don 3 searching for a new lead to take on the iconic role. Reports suggest that the team remains keen to begin shooting by late January 2026. Kriti Sanon has already been confirmed as the film’s leading lady, and the project is expected to be mounted on a large scale, with extensive schedules planned across several European locations.
There has been no official confirmation from either Ranveer Singh or the production team so far. However, the reported exit marks a notable turn for Don 3, which has already seen changes in its casting. Earlier, Kiara Advani had stepped away from the film following her pregnancy and the birth of her child, after which Kriti Sanon reportedly came on board.
Meanwhile, away from work, Ranveer Singh and his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, were spotted late Monday night at the Mumbai airport as they headed out for a vacation. The couple, twinning in black outfits, were seen holding hands and smiling as they waved at the cameras before entering the airport.
