Sanjay Leela Bhansali has confirmed that his next movie, Love and War, is 90 per cent complete. Recently, Bollywood Hungama reached out to the filmmaker and asked about his movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor,
Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt in the lead. Bhansali confirmed that his is about to wrap the shoot of his movie and shared that the film will be “completed in the next two months”.
Meanwhile, another source close to the film slammed reports of a budget spike and told the entertainment portal, “These attempts to sabotage the project are nothing new to Sanjay Bhansali. Every time he makes a film, the same stories of delay and budget pressures are spread. The truth is, the actors of Love & War have shot for the number of days they were signed for.”
This comes a day after a report by IANS claimed that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, which was expected to hit cinemas by August this year, might be getting pushed because some of the crucial scenes from the film are being reshot. The insider also claimed that since some important scenes are being reshot, this has also led to a spike in the film’s budget. It was also stated that all the rework has led to an indefinite delay in the release of the movie. For now, Love and War’s release date isn’t known.
It should also be noted that during an Instagram live session earlier this year, Ranbir Kapoor also confirmed that Love and War has been delayed. He confirmed that the film will be released after Ramayana Part One, which is slated to hit the screens in October.
Love and War has become one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s costliest projects. Sources close to the production recently told Pinkvilla that one of the primary reasons behind the delay is the sheer scale of Love and War. The film reportedly features expansive aerial action sequences that require heavy visual effects work. Given the complexity of these scenes, the VFX process is expected to be time-consuming.
