has now sparked speculation about a major cameo twist.
Pawan Kalyan To Replace Shah Rukh Khan?
According to a report by Valai Pechu, Pawan Kalyan has been approached by the makers to play a special cameo in Jailer 2. The development comes after earlier rumours suggested that Shah Rukh Khan would appear in the film as a police officer alongside Rajinikanth.
However, the latest reports claim that Shah Rukh may no longer be part of the project, with Pawan Kalyan being considered as a potential replacement. It is important to note that there has been no official confirmation from the makers so far.
Previously, reports had indicated that Shah Rukh Khan had shown interest in the cameo but eventually stepped away due to his commitments to his upcoming film King.
What We Know About Jailer 2
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 will see Rajinikanth reprise his role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel is expected to retain the action-comedy tone of the first film while expanding its scale and ensemble.
The film reportedly features a strong supporting cast including Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Additionally, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are expected to reprise their roles from the original film.
Rajinikanth’s Upcoming Projects
Beyond Jailer 2, Rajinikanth has a busy slate ahead. The actor is set to headline his next project, tentatively titled Thalaivar 173, directed by Cibi Chakravarthi. The film is expected to be an emotional action entertainer, with shooting likely to begin by the end of April 2026.
Reports also suggest that Rajinikanth will reunite with Kamal Haasan for a project currently referred to as KHxRK Reunion, marking their first on-screen collaboration in over four decades.
