People travel to hill stations to relax, enjoy fresh air and spend quiet time in nature. But not everyone visits with the same mindset. A recent video of a driver from Sikkim shows the other side of such
trips. The driver spoke about a group of 15 tourists who hired two vehicles and spent most of the journey drinking. Instead of enjoying the views and calm surroundings, the group kept complaining and creating trouble during the ride. The driver said some people were openly mixing alcohol inside the vehicle, while others were behaving carelessly.
Even though he was driving slowly and safely on the mountain roads, the passengers kept saying they were bored and not enjoying the trip. This constant noise and behaviour left the driver irritated. What made the story go viral was the driver’s blunt reaction, where he said that if they were looking for a thrill, they should have tried jumping from the mountain.
Sikkim Driver Shares Trouble With Drunk Tourists
The frustrated driver said, “My mind is mess since morning. A group of 15 people went in two cars and all of them were drunk. Some were mixing alcohol inside the vehicle, others were doing something else. I was driving calmly and they kept saying, ‘This isn’t fun, this isn’t fun.’ I thought, if you want fun, then jump from the mountain.”
The video posted on Instagram came with the caption, “A Sikkim frustrated Driver shares Experience with the Tourist.”
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “He is saying the truth.”
Another shared, “The majority of drivers don’t drink and they hate the smell of it. I don’t know why people get intoxicated while travelling. How will they enjoy? On top of that, they will drink alcohol in someone else’s car and even vomit.”
“Ban alcohol in the hills,” a comment read.
One more added, “Not frustrated but speaking the reality of Indian tourists.”
Swiss Tourist Shares Scam Experience in India
In 2025, a man from Switzerland shared a bad travel experience soon after reaching India on Reddit. He said that within two days, he faced many scam attempts, which left him upset and disappointed. During a long Uber taxi ride, the driver told him that the road ahead was closed due to a landslide and that he needed to stay overnight. The driver then took him to a hotel where another person tried to charge him a very high price and repeated the same road closure story.
I enjoy traveling in India, but I can't recommend it to anyone.

The traveller soon realised it was a trick. He warned them to arrange another taxi or face a poor review exposing the scam. They finally helped him get a taxi. Still, he felt angry because the driver wasted many hours of his time and ruined his earlier plans.
