Days after getting discharged from the hospital, Salim Khan made his first appearance on Saturday. The veteran screenwriter joined his family as they all greeted their fans on the occasion of Eid. In a video
that surfaced on social media, Salim Khan was seen in a wheelchair on the balcony of their Galaxy apartment as he waved at fans and the media outside.
Salim Khan was also joined by his entire family, including wife Salma Khan, sons Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan and daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan. Salim Khan’s grandchildren also joined him for the iconic balcony appearance.

For the unversed, Salim Khan was discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital on March 17 after spending a month there. Doctors had earlier confirmed that Salim Khan had suffered a minor haemorrhage. “There was minimal brain haemorrhage. A small procedure was done this morning, and it was accomplished. He is fine and stable, but is still on a ventilator. By tomorrow, hopefully, we will take him off the ventilator. All in all, he’s doing quite well. Keeping his age in mind, the recovery time is longer,” Dr Jaleel Parkar had said.
Salim Khan rose to prominence as one half of the legendary Salim–Javed duo, alongside writer Javed Akhtar. Together, they redefined mainstream Hindi cinema in the 1970s with a string of iconic films. Among their most celebrated works is Sholay, widely considered one of the greatest Indian films ever made. The duo also penned blockbusters such as Deewaar, Zanjeer, and Don, films that helped shape the “angry young man” era of Bollywood. Their writing not only changed storytelling patterns but also elevated the status of screenwriters in the industry.
