Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was in the spotlight at a high-profile event in Mumbai, where he was seen posing with Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav and his wife, Devisha Shetty. The brief interaction
quickly became one of the evening’s most talked-about moments. Bachchan, as always, commanded attention simply by being present.

The meeting took place at the ‘United in Triumph’ celebration held on Monday, January 5. The event was organised to honour Indian teams behind some landmark victories, including the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, the 2025 Women’s World Cup, and the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind. It brought together prominent names from cricket and cinema, creating a rare crossover of worlds.
Suryakumar later shared a picture from the evening on his Instagram story, showing him and Devisha alongside the veteran actor. The image quickly circulated among fans, drawing reactions from both cricket and film audiences.
A closer look at their outfits
Bachchan kept his look classic in a textured grey-black suit paired with black trousers and shoes. Suryakumar opted for a navy slim-fit blazer worn over a plain white crew-neck T-shirt, keeping things clean and understated. Devisha stood out in an off-white anarkali-style outfit, detailed with blue peacock feather embroidery and fine floral work.
The appearance comes at a packed time for the Indian cricketer. Suryakumar is set to continue as India’s T20I captain in the upcoming five-match series against New Zealand starting January 21. He is also expected to lead the side at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.
Amitabh Bachchan after KBC 17
For Bachchan, the event marked another public outing after the emotional wrap of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17. The 83-year-old actor recently wrote on his blog that he has been feeling a little “stuck” since the show ended, as he adjusts to life away from the familiar KBC set.
“Its been hardly a few days to the end of the season and the days seem too long to bring to some semblance of the ethics of work .. no work is a synonym for a sluggish walk through a wet vast wasteland,” the actor wrote.
Bachchan was last seen on screen in Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. His portrayal of Ashwatthama struck a strong chord with audiences. The film went on to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally, adding another milestone to the actor’s long career.
