Chennai Super Kings crushed Mumbai Indians by 103 runs in the 33rd match of IPL 2026. In the fixture played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (April 23), Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten century
(101 from 54 balls) for the Chennai-based franchise to help them post a total of 207 for 6 in 20 overs. And then West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein picked up 4 wickets for 17 runs in four overs, and Noor Ahmad dismissed two MI batters to help them successfully defend the target of 208 runs, bowling MI out for just 104 runs in 19 overs.
The big win by CSK over MI at Wankhede Stadium helped them enter their name in the history books as they became the first team to win an IPL match by more than 100 runs against the Mumbai Indians.
The previous record for the biggest win in the IPL against the Mumbai Indians was held by the Rajasthan Royals. On April 17, 2013, Rajasthan Royals crushed Mumbai Indians by 87 runs.
In that fixture, in reply to the target of 180 runs, MI could only manage to score 92 runs for the loss of all 10 wickets in 18.2 overs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
