BSSC 2nd Inter Level Vacancy 2025: The Bihar Staff Selection Commission has increased the number of vacancies for the second inter-level recruitment from 23,175 to 24,492, adding 1,317 more positions.
Consequently, there are now 1,317 additional opportunities for candidates. The application deadline has been extended from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026, with the fee submission deadline has been set for January 13, 2026.
Vacancy Distribution:
Out of the total 24,492 posts, 10,753 are for the unreserved category. The reserved categories include 3,407 posts for SC, 231 for ST, 4,185 for the extremely backward class, 2,678 for the backward class, 811 for women of backward classes, and 2,427 for the economically weaker section. Additionally, 7,816 posts are reserved for women under the 35 percent reservation rule.
Application Process:
Interested candidates can apply online at onlinebssc.com. The exam will be conducted online. Nearly 3 million applications have been received so far. This is the first time in nearly nine years that the Bihar Staff Selection Commission has announced a vacancy for the second inter-level recruitment, with the first inter-level exam advertisement issued in 2014 and the final result declared seven years later. Applications for the second inter-level recruitment were accepted until November 2023.
Eligibility:
Applicants must have passed the 12th standard (Intermediate). Some positions also require computer typing skills. Selection will be based on a preliminary written examination, a main examination, and, where necessary, a skill test.
Exam Structure:
The preliminary exam will be objective-type, covering General Studies, General Science, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. There will be 150 questions in total, with one mark deducted for each wrong answer. The exam will last 2 hours and 15 minutes. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for the general category, 36.5% for OBCs, 34% for Extremely Backward Classes, and 32% for SC/STs. If the exam is conducted in different shifts, results will be declared using a normalized method. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be selected for the main exam, with five times the number of vacancies being shortlisted.
