Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has pledged to donate his entire match fee from the Asia Cup 2025 to the Indian Army after leading India to it’s ninth continental title in Dubai, beating Pakistan by 5 wickets
on Sunday. “I personally want to give all my match fee from this tournament to the Indian Army,” Suryakumar Yadav said during the post-match presentation.
Commenting on the post-match trophy controversy – where India declined to accept the Asia Cup trophy from ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi – Yadav remarked, “This is something that I’ve never seen or heard since I started playing cricket – that the winning team doesn’t get the trophy it deserves. But for me, the real trophy comprises the players, support staff, and everyone who contributed. What matters is that everywhere you see on screens, it says – Indian Team Asia Cup Champions.”
I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts 🙏🏽

Explaining the team’s decision, he stated, “We as a team decided not to take the trophy [from Mohsin Naqvi]. Nobody told us individually. But I feel a team that wins the tournament deserves the trophy.”
