The popular dating reality show MTV Splitsvilla has returned with a new season titled MTV Splitsvilla X6: Pyaar Ya Paisa, and it’s already generating buzz. While Sunny Leone reprises her role as the much-loved
host, Karan Kundrra joins her as co-host, marking his return to MTV hosting after Love School 4 in 2019.
Season 16 premiered on January 9, and in the very first episode, Karan made a witty remark that continues to trend on social media, even after three episodes have aired.
While welcoming the contestants, Karan jokingly said, “Maine toh Bigg Boss mein bhi Splitsvilla kar liya tha (I did Splitsvilla even in Bigg Boss).” His playful remark resonated with many fans.
MTV Splitsvilla is a reality show where contestants compete in the quest for true love. While Karan Kundrra now co-hosts the show, he met his now partner, actress Tejasswi Prakash, during his time on Bigg Boss 15.
Karan Kundrra credits girlfriend, Tejasswi Prakash for making him ‘good boy’
During the premiere episode, the hosts also announced that this season, the house is divided into two sections: the Pyaar Villa and the Paisa Villa. After the female contestants entered the Pyaar Villa, they shared the qualities they hoped to see in their ideal partner.
That’s when Deeksha Panwar said she likes a ‘bad guy who’s good only for her.’ Both hosts, Karan Kundrra and Sunny Leone, agreed and shared their own experiences.
Sunny mentioned that her husband, Daniel Weber, was once a ‘bad guy’ who later turned good for her.
Karan also shared his own experience and said, “When a bad guy turns good only for you, nothing in the world can change him, and I am saying this from my personal experience.”
Though Karan didn’t name Tejasswi directly, fans were quick to realise that he was crediting his girlfriend.
Karan Kundrra on Tejasswi Prakash: ‘People misunderstand her’
Earlier in a conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast, Karan said that people think that Tejasswi Prakash doesn’t respect others, but it’s not the reality.
He said, “People think she doesn’t respect others, but it’s not like that. She doesn’t value how rich you are or your stature, she gets impressed by people’s work. I have also eventually learned a lot about her personality. Her perception of life is different. She doesn’t have too many friends. She will become close to you only if she vibes with you. And only then will she exercise authority over you.’
He added, “Sometimes she just says some things, but that is because she knows what is right in my life. But seeing her get possessive of me, people misunderstand her. She is like that with just me, so you have to be understanding to understand her.”
