Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday extended support to the INDIA bloc’s November 1 rally against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and Chief Election
Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar Gupta.
However, Dipke did not clarify whether he and his CJP colleagues would share the stage with INDIA bloc leaders, including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi this Sunday.
Several MPs and leaders from INDIA bloc parties, including the Congress, had joined the CJP’s protest at Jantar Mantar against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. However, senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stayed away from the protest stage alongside CJP leaders.
“GYANU MUST GO! The Cockroach Janta Party extends its support to the INDIA Bloc’s November 1 rally. Nation above all! #JaiBhim #JaiHind,” Dipke wrote on X.
Dipke also shared an announcement letter stating that Gyanesh Kumar had lost the trust necessary to oversee free and fair elections, and that his resignation was essential to restoring the credibility and independence of the Election Commission.
“Today, the SIR exercise has raised serious concerns about the removal of eligible voters from electoral rolls. Instead of making it easier for citizens to exercise their voting rights, we are witnessing growing fears of exclusion. Dr. Ambedkar fought to ensure that every Indian had an equal political voice, irrespective of their social or economic standing. That principle must be protected by every government and constitutional institution. The Election Commission’s responsibility is to protect every eligible citizen’s right to vote, not create obstacles to exercising it,” it said.

“Our Constitution gave every adult citizen the right to vote. It is our responsibility to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of that right. The Cockroach Janta Party will therefore support all organisations fighting for free and fair elections in our country,” it added.
The CJP had earlier called for a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. However, all three party leaders — Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka — were detained before they could reach the protest site in Delhi. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi had been leading protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the CEC before pausing the agitation for the festive season.
