Ranveer Singh has reportedly quit Pralay, a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta. Even though no official announcement has been made as of now, on Wednesday, a report by an X handle named
Always Bollywood claimed that Ranveer has decided to quit the project over creative differences.
“Ranveer Singh’s post-apocalyptic zombie thriller #Pralay, slated to go on floors by mid-2026 under Jai Mehta, has reportedly hit a roadblock due to creative differences between the actor and director,” the post claimed and then added, “Amid this, Ranveer is said to be eyeing a massive Pan India action entertainer following the blockbuster response to #Dhurandhar2. Meanwhile, #AdityaDhar has pitched a political action thriller that has already caught Ranveer’s interest. Sources suggest he may step away from #Pralay and move ahead with Dhar’s project instead.”

About Pralay
Set in a post-apocalyptic Mumbai, the film will reportedly use AI-driven visuals to depict a crumbling, decayed version of the city. The project will be directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, marking his theatrical directorial debut. Jai previously co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere, and is known for his realistic storytelling style.
The film is being co-produced by Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment, adding further weight to what is shaping up to be one of the more unconventional Hindi films in development.
Ranveer Singh Also Quits Don 3
Interestingly, this comes at a time when Ranveer Singh has also been making headlines for quitting Don 3. The actor, who is currently enjoying the success of his Dhurandhar franchise, left the movie last year. The fallout became public amid reports of script disagreements and delays. It was previously reported that Excel was seeking Rs 40 crore in compensation, citing pre-production expenses, scheduling changes and related losses. The production house maintained that groundwork had been completed with Ranveer’s approval.
Recently, Farhan Akhtar also opened up about the fallout and told Hollywood Reporter India, “What I have learnt is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it on film.”
