Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming directorial Ikkis is just days away from its theatrical release. The film holds special significance as it marks Dharmendra’s final appearance on the big screen. Ahead of its release on January
1, the makers hosted a special screening in Mumbai, which was attended by several prominent names from the film industry. Among the guests were actors Tabu and Fatima Sana Shaikh, whose reunion quickly caught attention on social media.
In a video that has since gone viral, Fatima is seen posing for the paparazzi when she suddenly notices Tabu and rushes towards her. The two warmly hug and chat, delighting fans with the nostalgic moment. During the interaction, Tabu also reminded the media that Fatima had played her daughter in the 1997 cult classic Chachi 420.

Directed by Kamal Haasan, this blockbuster film remains one of the most loved comedies in Indian cinema. Fatima Sana Shaikh began her acting journey with the film, portraying Bharti, the daughter of characters played by Tabu and Kamal Haasan. The film was adapted from the 1993 Hollywood classic Mrs Doubtfire, starring the late Robin Williams.
Besides the trio, Chachi 420 featured an ensemble cast including Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Rajendranath Zutshi, Johnny Walker, and Ayesha Jhulka.
Ikkis: Storyline And Cast
The two stars were spotted at Dharmendra’s final film, Ikkis’ screening. The biographical war drama, directed by Sriram Raghavan, also stars Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher and Rahul Dev in lead roles.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film chronicles the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, whose extraordinary bravery on the battlefield turned him into a national hero. With the screenplay crafted by Sriram Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, and Pooja Ladha Surti, Ikkis promises precision, emotional control, and an unflinching focus on character.
What’s Next For Tabu And Fatima Sana Shaikh?
Tabu is set to reprise her iconic role in the highly anticipated film Drishyam 3. The film, expected to begin shooting in Goa soon, will also star Ajay Devgn, Rajat Kapoor and Shriya Saran in lead roles. Made under the direction of Abhishek Pathak, the third instalment is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Drishyam Day, October 2, 2026.
She will also be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla and a Puri Jagannadh directorial starring Vijay Sethupathi, which will be released in Tamil and Telugu.
Fatima Sana Shaikh, on the other hand, will be seen in Teen Kawwe. Co-starring Pavail Gulati, Parag Chadha, and Sidhant Gupta, the upcoming film is a slice-of-life comedy web series that explores relatable, humorous, and emotional everyday experiences.
