Karan Johar recently dropped a cryptic message on his social media platform, talking about toxic people and distractions. The filmmaker-producer, who never minces his words in addressing issues in the
industry, as well as his personal life, opened up about the importance of self-worth. He gave a lovely reminder to his fanbase and emphasised the importance of staying teachable.
On Instagram, Karan Johar shared a series of picture messages, offering a couple of life lessons on self-worth, ignoring negativity, and seeking meaningful connections.
The opening frame read, “Rule #1: F*ck what they think.” The following slides read, “Sometimes your value isn’t seen until your absence is felt,” “A REMINDER: Ignoring toxic people is self-care,” “You can’t do big things if you are distracted by small things.”

He continued, “Be teachable. You’re not always right,” but added about understanding the actual well-wishers in life. “Choose people who choose you. The end.” Karan further stated, “Once you stop looking, things find you.” He also shared, “There are people that will never support you because it’s you. Then some people will always support you because it’s you. You just have to find your people.”
In the same post, the filmmaker also discussed not being influenced by distractions on the path towards success. “You can’t do big things if you are distracted by small things,” read the last slide of his note.
He captioned the post as “Thoughts I resonate with….” and hashtagged it with words like “food for thought”, “words need to be actions” and “khayalon ka caravan”.

Johar is gearing for the release of the romantic comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. Produced by Dharma Productions, the third instalment of the Dulhania franchise stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. It will hit theatres on October 2 on Dussehra.
