India pacer Arshdeep Singh has rarely had any chances to display his talents on the field in the last few months. But off the field, he has been doing enough to become a fan-favorite.
Whether that is his
social media game, where he’s more honest and authentic than most cricketers of his time, or the way he interacts with the fans and the media. He has added another moment to this list.
A video is going viral on social media from the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. After the conclusion of the India-Pakistan game in the super four stage of the 2025 Asia Cup, Arshdeep is seen gesturing towards the crowd, making an airplane with his hands and crashing it into his bottom.

Fans are seeing it as a befitting reply to Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf, who had repeatedly taunted the Indian crowd with a plane crash and a vile, ‘6-0’ gesture.
That has caused quite a storm in India as it is being seen as a reference to Pakistan’s baseless claims that they downed Indian fighter jets during the four-day border conflict after Operation Sindoor in May. More videos have shown he made similar gestures while celebrating wickets and otherwise, too, during the match.
India comprehensively beat Pakistan by six wickets, chasing down 172 with more than an over to spare. However, the Pakistani side has been reportedly waiting for a chance to make political gestures like Rauf’s since the group stage match between these two teams, where India refused to shake their hands and Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the win to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Rauf was not the only one with a controversial gesture, either. Batter Sahibzada Farhan celebrated his half-century with a gun-firing gesture and followed it up with saying that he ‘didn’t care’ what people perceived it to be in the post-match press conference.
