In recent days, a startling phrase has taken over social media: “Trump Is Dead.” On X (formerly Twitter), users are sharing posts, videos and rumours about the US president that have caused widespread
discussion and confusion online.
The trend grew with hashtags like #TRUMPISDEAD and #TRUMPDIED. People are also searching for answers about his whereabouts with queries such as “Where is Donald Trump?” and “Where is Trump?”
The Simpsons Connection
Part of the viral attention comes from The Simpsons. Several clips resurfaced online claiming that the show had predicted Trump’s death in August 2025. One video depicts a character resembling Trump collapsing during a live White House broadcast due to chest pain. The voiceover described it as one of the series’ “most disturbing predictions” and suggested the episode had been removed from streaming platforms.
The show has a long history of accurate Trump-related storylines from his 2000 election victory to a re-election episode in 2015.
Matt Groening, creator of the show, added fuel to the speculation during San Diego Comic-Con. He said, “No, there’s no end in sight. We’re going to keep going. We are going to go until somebody dies. When you-know-who dies, The Simpsons predicts that there will be dancing in the streets. Except President (J.D.) Vance will ban dancing.”
Health Factors Contribute To Buzz
In July, the White House confirmed that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition common in older adults. This happens when veins in the legs have trouble sending blood back to the heart, which can lead to swelling and discomfort.
The diagnosis came after the president showed signs of swelling in his legs and bruising on his hands. His physician, Dr Sean P. Barbabella, said the condition is benign and typical for people over 70. Other possible symptoms include varicose veins, pain, and, in rare cases, venous ulcers.
No Major Public Events
Adding to the fuel is The White House schedule that shows no major public events over the weekend, only in-town pool calls at 8:00 AM EDT. This schedule, along with his CVI diagnosis, has intensified social media speculation.
Vice President JD Vance’s Comments
Another possible reason which could have led to the trend is recent remarks from Vice President JD Vance. In an August 27 interview with USA Today, he said, “He’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning. Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people.”
“And if, God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days,” he added.
Rumours And Social Media Reactions
Online, many users are sharing their own observations and theories about the president’s absence.
One user commented, “Streets are saying Trump is dead.”

“President Trump hasn’t been seen in public since Tuesday and has no events scheduled all weekend. There are rumours saying he’s dead. I think he just has a big golf tournament to play.”
Another said, “I’m not saying Trump is dead. I’m just saying he hasn’t been seen in 3 days, has no public appearances scheduled for the next 3 days, has had swollen ankles, trouble walking, bruises on his hand with vein issues, and his VP said yesterday he’s ready to step in.”

“It’s clear something is definitely happening. As to what it is exactly is where it blurs. But chances are Trump has either been hospitalised, in a critical condition or is actually dead,” someone remarked.
