Ola Electric Scooter Catches Fire In Solapur
The CCTV footage captures the scene in detail that shows the Ola Electric scooter parked along the roadside while the father sits on it, waiting for his daughter. Just as the toddler steps onto the footboard and the father starts the scooter, a sudden plume of thick white smoke begins to rise from beneath the seat. A woman walking nearby notices the smoke immediately and warns the man.
In a split-second reaction, the father lunges to push his daughter off the scooter to safety. At that moment, another woman quickly steps in and takes the toddler away from the vehicle. Moments later, flames erupt from under the scooter’s seat, visible near the tyre. Bystanders rush to douse the fire with water to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Questions Raised Over Safety and Design
The incident sparked immediate concern among viewers with many pointing out the dangers of electric scooters and the potential risks for children.
One user commented, “Thanks to that lady who informed him about the fire. Otherwise, it could have been worse. And all these people who came immediately for the help, really commendable. But the main question: Why Ola? Why are you catching fire so frequently?”
Another said, “How dangerous it could have been for the kid if the bike was running …please go back to petrol scooters …there is no point saving the climate by risking your kid’s life.”
“Ola is the worst production ever in our country,” someone else remarked.
“Can’t believe they literally launched this half-baked product and sold this to customers without safety check and other inspection,” a person added.
An individual pointed out, “A woman’s quick thinking saved her life. You never know when these electric scooters might turn into bombs.”
“Why are people still buying these bikes even after so many such incidents?” a viewer questioned.
Previous Incidents Raise Further Questions
This is not the first time an Ola Electric scooter has caught fire. Last year, in July, a moving Ola S1 Pro electric scooter caught fire in Karnataka’s Ramanagara. Fortunately, the rider managed to escape unhurt.
