Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Union Budget 2026–27 was “human-centric” and that it “strengthens India’s foundation with path-breaking reforms”.
The Prime Minister also said that the proposals
laid the groundwork for a “new India” while accelerating growth and expanding opportunities for women, youth and emerging sectors.
Reacting after the budget presentation in Parliament, PM Modi called the exercise “historic” and said it reflected the government’s long-term vision for transforming the economy.
“This budget strengthens the foundation of India,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the country’s “female power is clearly visible in the budget.”
He underlined that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the budget for the ninth consecutive time, describing it as a significant moment.
