Diwali celebrations often call for festive treats that look as special as they taste, and a little creativity can make even a simple homemade biscuit feel party-ready. These edible phuljhadis take inspiration
from the sparkle of the traditional Diwali sparkler, turning slender cookie sticks into a playful, eye-catching dessert.
Made with a buttery, vanilla-flavoured dough, the biscuits are baked until lightly golden, then dipped in white chocolate flavoured with elaichi and finished with a shimmering coating of edible silver glitter. The result is a festive sweet that can be served at a Diwali gathering, added to a dessert platter or packed into a homemade gift box.
The recipe uses familiar baking ingredients such as maida, butter, icing sugar and milk, while rice paper and food-grade edible silver lustre dust create the glittering finish. Allow the cookie sticks to cool completely before dipping them in the melted chocolate so the coating can set neatly. You can prepare the biscuits ahead of time and complete the decoration closer to serving.
If you are looking for an easy Diwali dessert idea that brings a touch of sparkle to the festive table without requiring elaborate decorating skills, these edible phuljhadis are a fun option to try at home. As a homemade treat, they add sparkle to Diwali entertaining at home.
