Google is making Gemini work across different situations and not limit your access to the AI model on the screen all the time. This is not available for everyone yet but a new report has cited a Gemini beta
version that is making Gemini AI process your query and let you multi-task simultaneously.
You would hope that Gemini or any other AI model works like that on a phone but currently its working is limited to being on-screen all the time.
The new update spotted by Android Authority suggests you will have a Gemini tab in the preview mode and allow you to open other tabs or apps without disrupting the AI doing its job in the background.
Gemini Getting Basic Upgrades
The demo video in the report shows Gemini working in the background and you can see the AI model actively processing your query. When you tap the Gemini icon you will see the results offered by the AI model for your query. We expect Google to offer it as a premium feature because its working might be dependent on the RAM/memory on your device.
The APK teardown of the Gemini beta app gives us a good idea about how Gemini is likely to evolve in the near future, and this is a positive sign of what users can expect from the AI chatbot baked into most of the smartphones in the market.
It makes a lot of sense for ChatGPT to get a similar function, while others continue to process the requests without affecting what you can or not do on the device.
Google is also giving Gemini more powers, and one of them is the ability to help you identify if a photo or a video are AI generated. Open the Gemini app on your phone and upload the video or image that you want the AI model to verify the content.
The video file cannot exceed 100MB in size and is 90 seconds long. Just ask Gemini to verify the video using a question like, “Was this generated using Google AI? or it could be “Is this AI-generated” if you feel other apps were used to create it. It uses the SynthID watermark to identify such content.
