In April 2026, reports claimed that Aamir Khan had come on board to headline a biopic based on entrepreneur Ashneer Grover’s life, with filmmaker Rahul Mody reportedly attached to direct. It was also reported that Shraddha
Kapoor would play the female lead opposite Aamir. The speculations got their fans quite excited. However, there was no official confirmation from the makers or Ashneer himself. Now, a fresh report suggests that Aamir may have backed out of the project due to creative differences.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Aamir Khan has now stepped away from the Ashneer Grover biopic after initially showing keen interest in the project. The report claims that creative differences between Aamir and filmmaker Rahul Mody over the film’s vision and treatment ultimately led to the actor’s exit. A source told the portal, “Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups, and was keen to get into the zone with the Ashneer Grover biopic. He sat on the script and developed it to the best of his sensibilities. But eventually, he ended up having creative differences with Rahul Mody, leading to the duo parting ways.”
The report further states that Rahul Mody remains attached to the project, while his rumoured ladylove Shraddha is also said to be committed to starring in the film. The source further revealed, “The real life couple is now looking to recast the film, and get a relatively younger name to play the part of Ashneer Grover. The conversations are on with two – three top names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon.”
The biopic is expected to be co-produced by Shraddha Kapoor in association with a leading studio. Besides backing the project, the actress is also reportedly set to portray Ashneer Grover’s wife, Madhuri Jain Grover. However, neither Aamir nor the makers have officially confirmed the development.
Meanwhile, Aamir is currently busy shooting for the sequel to 3 Idiots. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial will mark his reunion with R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.
