Nana Patekar’s death has left the cinema world mourning. The veteran actor passed away at the age of 75 following a cardiac arrest on October 8. Following Patekar’s demise, the industry has been sharing
condolences with the grieving family, and Mithun Chakraborty, while speaking to News18 Bangla, has recalled his close friend.
Speaking about the friendship that they shared and how it was beyond films, Mithun shared, “Nana Patekar was a very close friend of mine. I was extremely saddened to hear the news. He lived a very simple life, like an ordinary person.”
Mithun further continued, and while speaking about how people often spoke about his angry nature, said, “People often say that Nana gets angry, but I can understand that. If things are not organised, I also get angry. We worked together in several films, but our friendship extended beyond cinema as well.”

Veteran actor Nana Patekar, aged 75, has died following a cardiac arrest. According to reports, he suffered severe chest pain at his home in Goa, following which a medical team was dispatched to his flat. He was found unconscious on arrival.
Doctors continued attempts to restore his heartbeat for 45 minutes, but the actor remained in asystole throughout the resuscitation, according to Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital. “Despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, he could not be revived. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem will be conducted,” Dr Salkar said.

Details about Nana Patekar’s last rites have come in. The actor’s final rites will take place with full state honours at his own farmhouse in Pune’s Donje area today at 4 pm, and he will be given full state honours, honouring his contribution to cinema and beyond.
