Imran Khan’s return to the big screen has been one of Bollywood’s most talked-about comeback stories. Ever since Katti Batti (2015), the actor has largely stayed away from films, leaving fans wondering
when he would headline a project again. While he surprised audiences with a cameo in Vir Das’ Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos earlier this year, his comeback as a leading man continued to remain a mystery. Now, the actor has broken his silence and confirmed that he is returning to acting with a film titled Adhure Hum Adhure Tum.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Imran Khan revealed that he is done shooting his comeback film and it is currently under post-production. Adhure Hum Adhure Tum is a grown-up romantic comedy. Talking about the film, the actor told the portal, “I have just finished shooting a new movie. It’s my first movie in 10 years and we’re in post-production right now. It’s called Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It’s for Netflix and is scheduled to come out at the end of this year. It’s a grown-up romantic comedy… age-appropriate to where I am now.”
Calling the film a project worth waiting for, Imran said it resonates deeply with the person he has become over the years, both in his personal life and as an actor. Rather than making his comeback with a typical commercial entertainer, he chose a story that reflects his journey, experiences and evolving perspective over the past decade. He added, “I’ve just worked with a really great young actor, Gurfateh Pirzada. Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. It’s the one I simply had to make after 10 years.”
Imran Khan has largely stayed away from the limelight over the past few years, making only occasional public appearances and rarely interacting with the media. He has preferred to keep a low profile, choosing a quieter life away from the hustle of the film industry. The actor made a memorable debut with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, and quickly became one of Bollywood’s most-loved young stars. Today, his fans are looking forward to watching him make a full-fledged comeback.
