Kartik Aaryan has officially begun shooting for his next film, Naagzilla. The makers have treated fans to a special glimpse from the film’s mahurat ceremony. The actor’s first look from the film was released
in April this year, and it is all set to release in August 2026.
The makers shared the video of the mahurat ceremony. Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar and other members were also seen doing puja before the shoot begins. “We’re not just rolling…we’re slithering into the world of #Naagzilla! Day 1 was filled with laughter, blessings, positivity and too much फ़न!” read the caption. One of the fans wrote, “So excited”. Another wrote, “congratulations.”

Kartik Aaryan Drops First Photo
On Saturday, the actor took to his Instagram handle and revealed the same. Kartik dropped a picture in which he was seen flaunting his million-dollar smile as he held a clap board in his hand. It read the name of the film, Naagzilla, along with the director’s name, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. A haldi teeka was also seen on the clapboard, suggesting the team held a puja before beginning the shoot. In the caption of his post, Kartik shared that interestingly, he is beginning to shoot for Naagzilla on a day when he is also celebrating one year of his hit movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev,” he wrote.
What Do We Know About Naazgilla?
Kartik Aaryan will be playing the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag in Naagzilla. Actor’s first look from the film was released in April this year. Back then, Karan Johar shared the motion poster and wrote, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar! #NaagZilla – Naag lok ka pehla kaand… Funnn phailaane aa raha hai – Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein – 14 August 2026 ko!”
Produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain – Naagzilla promises to be a one-of-a-kind entertainer that blends fantasy, folklore, and full-on fun. Not much details about the film’s plot have been revealed as of now.
Interestingly, this Kartik Aaryan movie has franchise potential, depending on how well the first film performs. While the casting for Naagzilla has been kept under wraps, sources indicate that Ravi Kishan has joined the cast. Although an official confirmation is awaited. Naagzilla will be Kartik Aaryan’s second collaboration with Karan Johar, following Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri.

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is slated to be one of the most anticipated rom-coms, and it looks like there’s happy news for moviegoers eagerly waiting for its release. The makers of the Kartik and Ananya starrer have locked a new release date for the film. The movie, which was slated to release on December 31, will now hit the screens a few days earlier, on the occasion of Christmas. This means the film will have a box office clash with Agastya Nanda’s war drama Ikkis.
