GATE 2026 Registration: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has postponed the commencement of registrations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. The registration portal
will now open on August 28, 2025, at gate2026.iitg.ac.in and remain active until September 28, 2025, without any late fee.
Candidates who miss the deadline can still register by October 9, 2025, by paying a late fee. Originally, the registration process was scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025.
GATE 2026 is expected to be conducted in two phases: February 7–8 and February 14–15, 2026, with results scheduled for March 19, 2026.
GATE Eligibility
The examination is open to students currently in their third year or higher of any undergraduate program, as well as those who have completed a government-recognised degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.
