A woman’s surprising food invention, a bizarre biryani-flavoured ice cream, left the desis in absolute disbelief. In a video shared on Instagram, she revealed her unique creation: ice cream infused with
the rich, aromatic spices of biryani.
While biryani’s warm, masala-laden flavours and the cold, creamy texture of ice cream seem like an unlikely pair, the woman insisted that her unusual concoction turned out well and even received approval from her flatmates.
Biryani-Ice Cream
The video starts with the woman showing how exactly she prepared the Biryani ice cream. It begins with her caramelising onions and chopping off some dry fruits. The clip then quickly moves to the preparation of rice infused with milk, cream, dry fruits and sugar.

To give this a Biryani touch, the woman added the caramelised onions, cardamom, cinnamon, and bay leaves to the preparation. After cooking the entire mix thoroughly, she then soaked the rice out and let the creamy remains be refrigerated for hours. She eventually came up with an ice cream cone of it and garnished it with the caramelised onions.
The woman perhaps recognised she was going for something totally awkward and left a sarcastic note with the video: “Modern passion project of unemployment. I am not beating the Asian stereotype, unfortunately. My flatmates approved of it (Biryani ice cream). So if anyone disagrees, I will thread your chin hair.”
