It is no secret that Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are all set to tie the knot. The couple is already in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and will get married on February 26. Amid all this, it has not been
reported that the two stars have decided to keep their special day rooted in regional traditions. If a report by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, guests at Vijay-Rashmika’s wedding are being served food on banana leaves along with coconut water.
“Guests at Rashmika-Vijay’s wedding are likely to experience a touch of South Indian tradition, with meals served on banana leaves and coconut water being specially arranged as part of the hospitality,” a source cited by the news portal claimed.
Serving food on banana leaves is a traditional practice at many South Indian weddings, symbolising prosperity and auspicious beginnings. Similarly, coconut water is often associated with purity and welcome.
Vijay, Rashmika Announce ‘Wedding Of Virosh’
On February 22, the couple took to their respective Instagram stories section and confirmed their wedding. “Our Dearest loves, Before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves, you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today, with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it, ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’. Thank you for holding us with so much love. You are a part of us, always. Biggest hugs and full love!” they wrote.
Reports also suggest that the couple has decided to keep the wedding private, with only close family and friends in attendance. Insiders say they have chosen not to invite members of the film industry to maintain an intimate celebration. However, following their Udaipur wedding, the couple plans a grand reception in Hyderabad on March 4, reportedly at Taj Krishna, that will see their friends, colleagues and who’s who from the Telugu film industry in attendance.
