Actress Lavanya Tripathi slammed a journalist for criticising her father-in-law and Telugu cinema icon Chiranjeevi after his old comment about having a boy child resurfaced following the birth of Ram Charan’s
twins. While the comment made headlines and sparked discussions on social media, Lavanya strongly defended her father-in-law.
Taking to her X account, Lavanya, while replying to a tweet by a journalist, shared, “I usually ignore tweets like this and let them pass on my timeline, but I didn’t expect it from you. This tweet is in extremely poor taste, turning a genuinely happy moment into something unpleasant. You clearly don’t know how he treats the women in his family, especially his granddaughters. Very few men can do even 1% of what he does, so it’s best not to comment on people you don’t truly know :)”

The controversy stems from an old remark by Chiranjeevi, where he referred to himself as a warden of a ‘ladies’ hostel’, as he is already a grandfather of four girls.
