The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has directed IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers to appear before the regulator on December 11 and has decided to constitute an Oversight Team that will be deployed
to the airline’s corporate office in Gurugram to look into several aspects, including total fleet, pilot numbers, crew utilisation and unplanned leaves.
IndiGo has decided to constitute an Oversight Team comprising eight members, two of whom will be deployed to IndiGo’s corporate office. They will look into the total airline fleet, average stage length, total number of pilots, flights per day and available crew, network details, crew utilisation, crew under training, split duties, unplanned leaves, and standby crew per day.
In addition, two officers deployed in the corporate office will monitor the flight cancellation status on both domestic and international levels, refund status, on-time performance, compensation to the passengers and baggage return. The teams are required to submit a daily report by 6 pm.
