Kylian Mbappe keeps finding himself in rare company — and once again, the only man standing ahead of him is his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Saturday, Mbappe became the second-fastest player this century
to score 50 LaLiga goals, reaching the mark in just 53 games for Real Madrid.
The only player to do it quicker? Ronaldo, who needed 51 appearances after joining Madrid in 2009.

Mbappe brought up his half-century in familiar fashion, calmly converting a penalty in Madrid’s 2–0 win over Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It was a crucial moment in a tense atmosphere, with the home crowd still restless following a shock Copa del Rey exit and recent managerial upheaval.

Since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, the Frenchman has been relentlessly consistent. Fifty league goals in 53 games puts him ahead of some of LaLiga’s most feared scorers of the modern era — including Luis Suarez, Radamel Falcao, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar.
Mbappe’s form has barely dipped since winning the Pichichi Trophy in his debut LaLiga season with 31 goals. He already has 19 goals in the 2025–26 campaign, putting him clear at the top of the scoring charts and firmly in the Golden Boot conversation once again.
While comparisons with Ronaldo’s staggering total of 311 LaLiga goals in 292 games remain ambitious, Mbappe’s trajectory is hard to ignore.
If he stays healthy and keeps scoring at this rate, history suggests plenty more milestones are coming.
