During his demolition job at the Wankhede Stadium that propelled Mumbai Indians to their highest-ever successful chase in IPL history, Rohit Sharma shared a light moment with Kolkata Knight Riders teammate
Ajinkya Rahane. The two laughed and shared a hug after Rohit broke into a little jig, poking fun at his former India teammate who was limping off the field after suffering from cramps.

Rohit and Rahane both enjoyed productive outings with the bat, each hitting half-century in the high-scoring contest that saw 444 runs being scored in 39.1 overs with MI winning by six wickets.
Rahane was KKR’s top-scorer with the bat as he peeled off an entertaining half-century – 67 off 40 with the help of three fours and five sixes – while adding 69 runs with Fin Allen for the first wicket. KKR would finish with 220/4 – a total that appeared 20 runs short of what the three-time champions would’ve wanted to be at given the start given by openers.
Rohit and Co. then proved that KKR should have scored in the region of 240 as they overhauled the total to finish at 224/4 in 19.1 overs. Rohit was in imperious form, blasting six fours and as many sixes to score 78 off 38 in a mammoth 148-run opening partnership with South African Ryan Rickelton who made an equally impressive 81 off 43.
Rahane didn’t take the field following his fitness issue and later admitted frustration at having no control of the proceedings with Rinku Singh taking charge of KKR in his absence.
“I was just cramping. It’s a very bad feeling to sit outside with the cramps and you don’t have any control when the bowlers were bowling, it’s a bad feeling but first I’m really happy the way I batted,” he said.
KKR will look to get over the disappointment and hope to record their first win of IPL 2026 when they host Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens on April 2.
