Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Raghav Chadha on Tuesday met President Droupadi Murmu along with fellow MPs, raising concerns over what he described as “vendetta politics” by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led
Punjab government.
In a post on X following the meeting, Chadha wrote, “Honoured to meet the Hon’ble President of India this morning, along with three fellow MPs.”
He added that the delegation conveyed how the Punjab government was “misusing state machinery to target us for exercising our constitutional rights.”
According to an ANI report, Chadha also told reporters that he fears he could be the “next target” of the Punjab government’s alleged actions against MPs who left AAP and joined the BJP.
He accused the state administration of deploying agencies and using public funds to threaten former party colleagues.
“I want to tell AAP that they have started a dangerous game of revenge. The end will be really bad,” he said, as quoted by ANI.
‘CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS MUST BE RESPECTED’: PRESIDENT’S ASSURANCE
Referring to the meeting, Chadha mentioned on X, “We take strength from the President’s assurance that constitutional rights and democratic choices must be respected.”
He also claimed that the President assured protection for the seven former AAP MPs who defected to the BJP.
ANI reported that Chadha cautioned Punjab government officials, stating that the current administration has limited time left in power and should be mindful of its actions.
He further alleged that “malicious” and “fabricated” cases were being registered against leaders like Sandeep Pathak, and cited incidents such as alleged intimidation, FIRs, and actions against individuals linked to the MPs.
Pathak, who accompanied Chadha to the meeting, echoed similar concerns, saying, “AAP is trying to intimidate us by filing fake FIRs. We will fight a legal battle.”
In his X post, Chadha also mentioned that, “AAP today behaves less like a political party and more like an obsessed, jilted ex — bitter, vindictive, and unable to move on.”

The ANI report noted that the controversy comes days after FIRs were registered against Sandeep Pathak, and amid escalating tensions following the defection of seven AAP MPs to the BJP.
The merger has significantly altered the balance in the Rajya Sabha, boosting the BJP’s strength while reducing the AAP’s presence.
Chadha also alleged that actions such as shutting down industrial operations and targeting individuals associated with the defecting MPs were part of a broader pattern of political retaliation.
CHADHA PRAISES BJP’S ELECTORAL PERFORMANCE
In a separate X post, Chadha congratulated the BJP on its recent electoral successes across multiple states.
“Congratulations to the entire BJP family on the impressive election results, with West Bengal marking a historic & decisive victory that stands out as truly remarkable,” he wrote.
He highlighted the party’s performance in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, describing the results as a reflection of public faith in governance and development.
Chadha credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and BJP president Nitin Nabin for the outcomes.
“This victory stands as a testament to the decisive leadership and the dedicated efforts of the BJP,” he added.

The developments signal intensifying political friction between the BJP and AAP, particularly in Punjab, even as electoral outcomes elsewhere strengthen the BJP’s narrative.
