set to release, the anticipation surrounding 2026 releases has skyrocketed. One of the most awaited movies of next year is Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. As the movie eyes a 2026 release, Bhardwaj is keen on wrapping the shoot as soon as possible.
As per a report in Mid-Day, Shahid and Bhardwaj will be shooting at Vrundavan Studios in Malad on December 28, marking the last leg of an otherwise tightly guarded production. As per a source close to the project, “It’s a patch shoot, with some action and dialogue-heavy scenes lined up.” The report also confirmed that this shoot will focus on Shahid and will not require Triptii Dimri and Randeep Hooda.
Post this, there will be another 8-day shoot in January 2026, and “That leg will mostly include crowd sequences and scenes with body doubles. If required, the actors may be requested to report for a day or so,” added the source.
O Romeo First Look
O Romeo is Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj’s debut collaboration. Nadiadwala’s grandson had shared the first look of the film on its social media accounts. A man was seen wearing a cowboy hat and concealing his face with a tattooed hand. The film, which will be released in theatres on February 14, stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, and Farida Jalal in prominent parts, with Disha Patani making a special appearance.
Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid have previously worked together on Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017). O Romeo is Triptii’s debut collaboration with Vishal and Shahid. O Romeo is expected to be a visually stunning action thriller that combines strong drama, scenic visuals, and emotional storytelling. Though centred on action, the title and Valentine’s Day release imply a romantic core.
Shahid Kapoor’s Latest Work
Shahid Kapoor last appeared in Deva, an action thriller released earlier this year. The film, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, followed a tough detective who undergoes a behavioural transformation after losing his memory in an accident. In addition to Shahid Kapoor, the film starred Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in prominent roles.
